stomata
stomata are pores on the plant surface. They open to allow the uptake of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and close to prevent water low. Stomatal development and function, which are highly sensitive to climate change, affects crop productivity, and global carbon and water cycle. Our research explores the genetic and molecular control of stomatal development and evolution, to enhance the ability of crops to adapt to a changing climate.
