solar energy

solar energy is an important asset for a country such as Spain. By combining satellites and models, we generate short-term estimates to improve operations and provide input to products such as weather derivatives.

hydropower

we have a particular interest in precipitation, and thus on hydrology and hydropower. In another EES paper, we commented on the role of precipitation data for hydroelectricy generation. 

 

wind energy 

we provide satellite-based estimates and model-based forecast of wind and solar energy. The basics of this approach was exposed in a ESS paper back in 2009. Since then, we have been providing estimates of renewable energy to a variety of parties.
