climate models

 we work with CEMS, both standard version and in-the-house 'avatars' of the code. The reason for using a community model is threefold: firstly, the code is publicly available so the bugs and errors are minimized and auditing is made possible; secondly, thousands of scientists worldwide working together ensures a quick and full validation of any new development; and latest but not last, CEMS is a global model that implements the most advanced physics.

 

model validation

climate models require observations for tunning the code and for calculating biases and uncertainties. Multisource satellite data, merged with ground observations are instrumental to gauge the applicability of climate projections in adaptation and mitigation policies.
