In this lesson we introduce the reader with linear programming problems by means of three examples: the transportation problem, the production scheduling problem and the diet problems. Since they involve linear objective functions and linear constraints, they are cases of linear programming problems. The GAMS code for solving these problems are given and discussed, so that the introduction of the Gams language becomes smooth.

Linear Programming
