General Information

This interuniversity Master’s program, offered jointly by ten universities, provides multidisciplinary training in fundamental and applied aspects of Materials Science. It focuses on areas of growing interest such as 2D materials; energy (storage, green hydrogen, photovoltaics, electrocatalysis); environment (membranes for toxin removal, CO2 capture and valorisation); information technologies (including quantum technologies); advanced electronics (materials for microelectronics, photonics, optoelectronics, spintronics); and health (smart materials for drug delivery, imaging agents, theranostics). It addresses both academic and research profiles, preparing graduates to tackle scientific and technological challenges in emerging fields with a solid, comprehensive perspective.

• To train students for research in advanced materials or to develop a professional activity in high-tech companies.

• To create a multidisciplinary and competitive scientific community in Spain to research in these subjects. In this respect, the master is a suitable framework for the promotion of mobility and interaction between students from different scientific areas and contacts with other universities, research centres and companies operating in this area.

Graduates of the Master's Degree in Advanced Materials will be highly qualified to work in various fields, both carrying out a doctoral thesis and applied research in R&D companies, contributing to the development and application of new functional materials in key sectors. Their training will enable them to join international research teams, collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment and apply advanced techniques in the manufacture and characterisation of materials.
