The UCLM expands its academic offer with the Degree in International Studies

The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) will have, among its academic offer, the new Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies, after being approved by the Governing Council of the academic institution, gathered in the Campus of Albacete under the presence of the Rector, Miguel Angel Collado Yurrita

The Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, which will be taught at the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the Campus of Toledo, was born primarily with the aim of training professionals capable of understanding and analyzing international relations, both from a globalized point of view and from specific sectors or regions, and being able to put at the service of the highest institutions and public and private bodies (civil administration of the State, diplomatic corps, European Union organizations, intelligence services, consultancy and advisory services, research centers, NGOs, political parties and multinational companies, among others) their knowledge, experience, analytical skills, and decision making.

In this sense, students of the Degree in International Studies will receive a complete training in the different fields of international relations that will qualify them to understand how the international system works to the full extent. All this will be taught from a multidisciplinary perspective, composed of subjects related with journalism and communication, sociology, philosophy, diplomacy, international economics and finance, law, history or politics; and multilingual. In addition to Spanish and English, which are the lingua franca of part of the subjects in the degree; students will acquire the basic skills and abilities for the management of languages from two important strategic regions today, such as Arabic and Chinese.

The Governing Council has also green-lighted the creation of eight new postgraduate degrees. These are the Master’s Degree in Legal Update for Notaries, in Tax Consulting and International Taxation, in Global Governance and Human Rights, in Orthopedics for Pharmacists, and in Cultural and Creative Industries. Professional Training 3.0 and Entrepreneurship; in addition to the titles of Professional Specialization in Respiratory Physiotherapy, Family Systemic Intervention and Iberoamerican Postgraduate Specialist in Alternative Energies and sustainability.
