The International Doctoral School of the University of Castilla-La Mancha is the center created by this University under the current regulations on doctoral studies with the main objective of organizing, within its scope of management, the teaching and activities related to doctoral studies at this institution.
Its creation was proposed by the Governing Council of the UCLM on 20 November 2012 and, after its ratification by the Social Council in session on 28 November of the same year, it was finally created by agreement of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha on 25 July 2013 (DOCM no. 148 of 1 August).
According to the Regulation of the International Doctoral School, approved by the Board of Governors in UCLM on October 22, 2024, the International Doctoral School has as its main purpose the organization, within its scope of management, of the teachings and activities of the doctorate and, in case, official teachings of university master's degree of mainly research/scientific content, as well as other open research training activities.
The EID-UCLM is organized as an interdisciplinary school and integrates all UCLM doctoral programs verified and approved in accordance with current legislation.
The EID-UCLM develops its own strategy, which is linked to the research strategy of the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
Mission, vision and values of the International Doctoral School
The EID-UCLM's mission is to provide society in general, and the society of Castilla-La Mancha in particular, with an internationally recognized doctoral training offer, sensitive to demand and contributing to the increase of competitiveness, sustainable development and social cohesion of its environment through:
- An efficient and transparent management of the resources entrusted to it.
- A wide range of quality training.
- The comprehensive training of people, promoting excellence, interdisciplinarity and multiculturalism.
- The dissemination of the educational offer and the promotion of employability and job placement of its graduates.
- The promotion of relationships with universities and research and training organizations of recognized international prestige.
The EID-UCLM's vision is to be recognized for its achievements in the transmission and support for the generation of knowledge, as well as for its contributions to competitiveness, sustainable development and social cohesion of its environment, always in collaboration with socio-economic agents. Likewise, it must be able to attract talent and achieve the satisfaction of all the people involved in its activity.
The EID-UCLM is guided by values that emphasize its ethical commitment to the environment and the university community itself and will be aligned with the Code of Ethics and Good Governance of the University of Castilla - La Mancha (approved by the Board of Governors on July 3, 2024), which affect the entire university community. It includes the following as fundamental values of this University:

In addition, according to its main mission: the training of researchers, the values of the EID-UCLM will necessarily be defined by those that inspire the Code of Good Scientific Practices of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Resolution of 28/06/2023, of the UCLM published in DOCM 06/07/2023) and all the actions and attitudes that its compliance entails.
Structure
The EID-UCLM has a management team made up of a director, at least one deputy director and a secretary, as well as two collegiate bodies: the Management Committee, which carries out the functions related to the organization and management of the School, and the Permanent Commission, which is responsible for the resolution of procedural matters established by the Committee and those issues that, by delegation, are expressly entrusted to it by the Committee.
