The International Doctorate School of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (EID-UCLM) organizes the UCLM Doctoral Days, aimed especially at doctoral candidates, both its own and those from other Spanish or foreign universities who request participation. The rest of the groups that make up the university communities or belong to research centres are also invited.
This event complies with the regulations (Royal Decree 99/2011) governing Doctoral Studies, which require Doctoral Schools to plan activities inherent to the transversal training of doctoral candidates.
Its objectives are:
- To disseminate the research activity of the doctoral candidates on the various programmes and make it known to the rest of the university community, companies and society in general.
- To confer the ability to present the results of doctoral theses.
- To promote future new ideas for research topics in the various branches of knowledge.
- To constitute a point of exchange for experiences and opinions among doctoral candidates about the development of doctoral training.
- For the UCLM to recognize research work through the presentation of awards.
The programme includes a lecture, a meeting and debate between doctoral candidates and new doctors from different disciplines, and a round table.
Doctoral candidates who wish may participate in the Days with a poster on their research work and an abstract for inclusion in the Proceedings.
Two prizes will be awarded for the best poster in each branch of knowledge, the winners of which will be eligible to compete in the subsequent Doctoral Days arranged by the G-9, a group of nine universities that are the only ones in their autonomous regions. It is also customary to award a prize for the best poster related to a specific topic of the sponsor's choice (Campus of International Excellence -CYTEMA, Chair of Circular Economy of the UCLM).
