Project summary
Project summary:
Rising sea levels and the growing demand for construction space, particularly in coastal areas, have underscored the necessity for innovative building materials capable of offering enhanced durability, reliability and efficiency. With the support of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme, the LITEFLOATCON project aims to address this demand by pioneering a lightweight, high-performance concrete (LWHPC) solution. It will establish an international and intersectoral partnership, bringing together a team of 33 researchers with expertise in various necessary specialties. This team will conduct research and development on the LWHPC, evaluate its reliability and adhere to life-cycle analysis guidelines. Ultimately, the project will design an easy-fit inter-modular connector. The outcome will be the formation of novel, robust partnerships and the production of sustainable LWHPC for floating structures.
