Ph D Students

Abelardo Sánchez Oliva was born the 30^th November of 1998 in Albacete. He studied a Degree in Chemical Sciences (2016-2020) at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM).

He complemented his academical formation obtaining a Master Degree in Investigation in Chemistry (2020-2021) developing his Master Degree’s project titled “Rational Design of derivatives of Naphthalenimide, Naphathalendiimide and Perilenimide with application in Organic Field-Effect Transistors” under the supervision of Dra. Pilar Prieto Núñez-Polo and Dr. Ivan Torres Moya.

In 2021, he began his PhD in the Microwave and Sustainable Organic Chemistry group (UMSOC) in the Department of Inorganic, Organic and Biochemistry (UCLM) under the supervision of Dra. Pilar Prieto Núñez-Polo and Dr. Ivan Torres Moya. The aim of this PhD is the search for new organic materials with application as optical waveguide following the principles of Sustainable Chemistry.

Irene Chacón Jiménez was born the 25^th February of 2000 in Ciudad Real. He studied a Degree in Chemical Sciences (2018-2022) at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM). Meanwhile, in 2021 she obtained a collaboration grant awarded by IRICA (Instituto Regional de Investigación Científica Avanzada) for working under the supervision of Dr. Pilar Prieto.

In 2022, she obtained a collaboration grant awarded by the Ministry of Education. That year, she received the First Flash Communication Award in the category Degree’s project titled “Synthesis of arylethynyl pyrazine derivatives with application as optical waveguides” in XVI Young Science Symposium.

Juan Antonio García Romero was born in Villarrubia de los Ojos (Ciudad Real). He studied ESO and Baccalaureate of Sciences at I.E.S GUADIANA (Villarrubia de los Ojos) (2011-2017).

From 2017 to 2022 he studied the Degree in Chemistry  at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Technologies. During this period she performed an internship at Cooperativa el Progreso (Villarrubia de los Ojos).

Currently, she is a student of the Master's Degree in Chemistry at the same faculty.
