Session: Empathise and take action

Social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok receive an average of over a million comments per minute on new posts, whether these are photos, news articles or videos. Within this context, it is common to find opinions or posts about controversial or sensitive news stories that can fuel online hate among those affected.

Session: trial of hatred

An interactive session was held on 8 April at IES Parque Lineal to develop and encourage students’ social-emotional skills, counter-narratives and alternative narratives through a hypothetical scenario.

V New Educational Horizons 2026

On Wednesday 8 April, the Faculty of Education in Albacete hosted the fifth edition of the seminar ‘New Horizons in Education: Innovating to Educate – Technology at the Service of Education’, which enabled future teachers, researchers and education professionals to share experiences aimed ultimately at fostering innovation through the effective use of new technologies in teaching.

Information session on fake news

On Wednesday 25 March, a session on fake news was held at IES Parque Lineal, aimed at young students, with the aim of providing examples, explaining the concept and highlighting the key ways to distinguish it from real news.

National Police information session

On 18 March, we held a session at IES Parque Lineal led by the National Police on the topic of hate crimes. The session was designed to enable professionals in the criminal justice sector to inform students about the legal consequences of online hate, digital literacy and personal responsibility when using social media.

Training session for teaching staff

On Thursday 12 March, a training session was held via Teams for the teaching staff at IES Parque Lineal, aimed at strengthening their knowledge and skills regarding the use and significance of social media and cyberbullying among teenagers.

APOCLAM Training Sessions in Toledo

On 6 March, Toledo hosted the APOCLAM Training Conference on ‘Guidance, Learning and Well-being’, a space for reflection and professional development focusing on the current challenges of educational guidance.

Focus groups: parents

Discussion group where we give a voice to the parents of students at IES Parque Lineal on the use and knowledge of social media among teenagers, with each member of the group having the opportunity to give their opinions and/or recount their experiences in this regard; allowing for reflection on cyberbullying and its importance among secondary school students.

Data collection from the pilot programme

Data collection carried out among young people aged 12 to 16 (all groups from 1st to 4th year of secondary school) with the aim of obtaining a diagnosis of social media use among adolescents and the possible existence of hate speech in interactions that occur in this type of environment and context; all with a view to launching the ACIBERA Project pilot programme.

Discussion groups where we give a voice to students at IES Parque Lineal from 1st to 4th year of secondary school on the use of social media, giving each student in the groups the opportunity to express their opinions and gain a better understanding of the situation with regard to cyberbullying, enabling them to understand the phenomenon and the consequences it can have among secondary school students.
