Start Date (Duration): To determine (4 years)
We are pleased to invite applications for a fully funded PhD position to join the ERC Starting Grant HyperFMOF project (ref. 101163095), hosted at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), Toledo, Spain.
The HyperFMOF project focuses on the development and comprehensive characterization of novel hyperfluorescent materials based on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), aiming to integrate them into MOF-based light-emitting diodes (MOF-LEDs).
Candidate Profile:
- Applicants must hold (or be close to completing) a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
- Strong interest in organic synthesis and material science is required.
- Previous experience in organic and MOF synthesis or coordination chemistry is a strong plus.
- Good level of English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Motivation to pursue a doctoral thesis, strong teamwork skills, and scientific curiosity are expected.
Main Responsibilities:
- Participate in the synthesis and characterization of organic ligands and MOFs.
- Collaborate with senior researchers on the design and optimization of materials for optoelectronic applications.
- Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of experimental data.
- Present results in group meetings and scientific events.
- Write reports and assist in the preparation of scientific publications.
This is a unique opportunity to join a highly interdisciplinary research environment, working at the forefront of materials science and photophysics.
This is an expression of interest. Any interested candidate may send their CV and academic transcript, compiled into a single PDF, to: mario.gutierrez@uclm.es. The selection process will be carried out through UCLM’s official channels in the near future.
