Research Topics

of the Analytical-Nano group
Our group actively participates in research in different fields related to analytical chemistry and nanotechnology, through numerous projects financed both regionally, locally, and internationally, the main lines of research being those indicated below.
  • SIMPLIFICATION AND MINIATURISATION OF ANALYTICAL PROCESS: DEVELOPMENT OF DEVICES AND (MICRO)ANALYTICAL SYSTEMS

This cross-cutting research line esentially stresses basic research aspects with a subsequent application to the rest of research lines. New procedures are addressed for sample handling (simplification-automation), design and set-up of screening systems with a fast response for samples classification (simplification) and miniaturisation of devices and measurement systems (development of new sensors and microsensors, as well as microfluidics platforms for electrophoretic separations).

  • ANALYTICAL NANOSCIENCE AND NANOTECHNOLOGY

This research line consists of the analytical nanotechnology implementation in certain chemistry measurement procedures, making the most of the outstanding features of nanomaterials for analytical purposes.

  • ANALYTICAL CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE AGRI-FOOD FIELD

This research line comprises two specific aims: (i) the analytical control of food quality and (ii) analytical measurements to assess quality of the agrarian environment.

  • ANALYTICAL CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL FIELD

This research line comprises two different aspects. Firstly, the development of tasks aimed for the analytical control of the environment (non-biological) and, secondly, tasks aimed to assess the influence of metal pollution (either creating nanoparticles or not) in living beings (flora and fauna).

  • ANALYTICAL CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE CLINICAL AND BIOMEDICAL FIELD

This research line deals with the assessment and analytical control of nanodrugs used for cancer therapy.
