IBM Global AI Racing League

13/05/2026

IBM has opened registration for the Global AI Racing League — where teams of university students from around the world come together to code, collaborate, and conquer the racing world.

🏎️ The Challenge: Build a high-performance AI race car using:

  • TORCS (The Open Racing Car Simulator)

  • Python

  • IBM Granite LLM

You will design, test, and optimize your AI driver to compete on the Corkscrew circuit.

Steps:

  • Enroll in the IBM AI Racing Competition activity on IBM SkillsBuild and complete the modules: https://ibm.biz/RaceYourCode (all team members, up to a maximum of 10, must register individually).

  • Join our Discord community to stay up to date with the competition and ask any questions: https://discord.gg/KXhqwKqnB2

  • Check the technical guides.

🎥 The final submission includes:

  • A video of your fastest lap featuring an IBM livery (design), with the team and university name clearly visible.

  • Team video (introduction + strategy + use of tools).

  • GitHub repository with your AI driver's code.

  • Race data (filled out in the submission form).

  • Exclusive livery for differentiation in mass starts.

⏱ The fastest lap times qualify for the top 10. 🏆 Winners are selected based on lap time + the quality of the team video.

This competition goes beyond speed: it’s about collaboration, technical excellence, communication, and showcasing your readiness for the industry.

The final submission deadline is July 1, 2026.

Start your engines!
