I Workshop of NyNA Consortium for Young Researchers held at UCLM (Ciudad Real) in May, 2025

10/06/2025

It was held this past May at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Technologies at UCLM (Ciudad Real), successfully and with a large representation of young researchers from various groups in the NyNA Consortium, from different parts of the country.

The First Workshop on Analytical Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NyNA) for young researchers was held at the UCLM Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Technology from May 26 to 29. The workshop was organized by the NyNA Consortium, the Thematic Network on Analytical Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, the (bio)Analytical Science and Technology Group of the RSEQ (University of Barcelona), and the Society for Applied Spectroscopy (SEA).

The workshop was led by the "Analytical-nano-Group" and, specifically, by professors Ángel Ríos, Rosa Carmen Rodríguez Martín-Diomeadios, and Gregorio Castañeda of the UCLM. The workshop was sponsored by the UCLM Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Technologies, the Castilla-La Mancha Regional Section of the RSEQ (University of Barcelona), and in collaboration with the Regional Institute for Applied Scientific Research (IRICA) of the University. The Scientific Committee was composed of Professors Ángel Ríos (National Coordinator of the NyNA Consortium), José Manuel Costa (Head of the NyNA Thematic Network and President of the CTbA Specialized Group of the RSEQ), and Elena Benito (Secretary of the Applied Spectroscopy Society).

The opening ceremony was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Technologies, Professor Manuel Andrés Rodrigo Rodrigo. The Workshop was secretariat by Professor Gregorio Castañeda Peñalvo. The workshop featured a magnificent cast of national and UCLM professors, listed below. A total of 43 students from most Spanish universities registered and participated, which can be considered a success for events of this type.
