The UCLM hosts a national materials science dissemination congress in Toledo

The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is hosting the 2nd National Conference on Materials Science, Technology and Engineering Dissemination (MATERDIVULGA 2024) on 12 and 13 June at the Toledo Campus, organised in collaboration with the Spanish Materials Society (SOCIEMAT) within the framework of a project funded by the Spanish Science and Technology Foundation (FECYT) and the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

The conference includes the inaugural lecture by the physicist and researcher at the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) Pedro Serena, as well as various interventions related to materials, engineering, technology or dissemination, as well as a podcast workshop and recreational sessions. 

In addition, the exhibition Materland: the materials that surround us, curated by professors Gloria Rodríguez and Ana Romero, which consists of ten panels and eight exhibitors and highlights the profiles of seven women related to this scientific discipline, can be visited until 15 September in the Library of the Campus of the Old Arms Factory in Toledo.

The opening ceremony was attended, among others, by the Vice-Rector for Coordination, Promotion and Communication, Leonor Gallardo; the President of the Spanish Society of Materials (SOCIEMAT), Juan Damborenea; the President of the congress organising committee, Gloria Rodríguez, and the head of the Fábrica de Armas Library, Antonio Casado.
