Preregistration, enrolment and regulation for double degrees

The application for enrolment in the Double Bachelor Degree in Audiovisual Communication and Journalism will be made within the officially established general terms.  The double degree implies the simultaneous completion of two different degrees through a single curricular itinerary institutionally programmed. At the end of the double degree, students will obtain the two titles.

For the purposes of the economic settlement of the enrolment, the degree of experimentation established in the corresponding public prices will be applied.

Dedication

The dedication to a double degree  requires a full-time enrolment. However, while in the first year the credits set in the itinerary may be reduced by a maximum of 20%. Similarly, in the rest of the courses, the number of credits to be enrolled may be increased by up to 20% of the average number of credits for each course. This average will be calculated by dividing the total credits of the itinerary by the number of courses that comprise the degree.

Recognition

In the design of the double degree, the subjects for which students can obtain recognition are defined by a specific table of recognitions between the subjects of both degrees, which can be consulted in the Justification Report. All this without prejudice to other recognitions that may correspond on the basis of the UCLM Credit Recognition and Transfer regulations.

Scholarship application

For the purposes of obtaining scholarships, students will be considered assigned, throughout their tenure in the double degree, to the main degree that has been assigned (the one that appears first in the title). Students must formalise their scholarship application for the main degree (Audiovisual Communication). Students must take this circumstance into account for all regulatory purposes established by the annual call for scholarships from the Ministry of Education.

Abandonment

Once the double degree has started, students who want to abandon their studies could do so at the beginning of the academic year by requesting their transfer from the double degree to one of the separate plans (Journalism and Audiovisual Communication).  In this case, the acknowledgements obtained will be reviewed, cancelling those obtained on the basis of the double degree.
The training program of the double degree,  with regard to timetables, classrooms and tests, will be made public in advance and may or may not coincide with the teaching schedule for each of the separate degrees.

Permanence

Students must enrol in the pending subjects from previous courses, not being able to formalise the enrolment without fulfilling this requirement.

Students will have 6 opportunities to take the exams of each subject. Non assistance to the final test will result in automatic failure. This rule will not apply  to the special call for termination or to the extraordinary call which, in any case, will result, for academic and administrative purposes, in the consummation of the call, regardless of the appearance or not from the student to the final test.

Enrolment’s modification

We offer two periods for enrolment’s modification:

  • During the enrolment’s period and until September 8, the registration may be modified when the reasons-why are duly justified and accredited. If the modification implies a decrease in the registration fee, a refund or financial compensation will be done in the second payment period.
  • Likewise, in the period from January 26 to February 6, request for enrolment extensions and subject changes will be accepted when this does not imply a decrease in credits. This modification may only affect second semester subjects, and the enrolment will be conditional on the existence of vacant positions.

This modification will be made by self-enrolment within the established period.

Cancellation of registration

  • Students may cancel or modify enrolments once the established periods have concluded, only in cases when duly justifies circumstances concur, which will be assessed by the Permanence Committee. If these circumstances arise, established by the Resolution of the Permanence Commission dated March 31, 2011, the student will have the right to a refund of the fee. In no case the administrative fees will be refunded.
  • The cancellation of enrolments will be accepted, without refund of the amount paid for public prices, when it is requested before December 31 of the corresponding course, provided that it does not imply the breach of the applicable regulations.
  • The cancellation will be made ex oficio by the UCLM when the student does not meet any of the necessary requirements to formalize the enrolment or when the payment of the enrolment has not been made within the established deadlines. In these cases, if the student registers again in the same degree and subjects, they will pay the public prices corresponding to the credits registered in the second registration.
