The University of Castilla-La Mancha The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is a young, dinamic institution that has more than 35,000 students distributed throughout its four university campuses: Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Toledo. The UCLM offers more than 50 degrees at different levels, which can be explored online. At the beginning of the 2010/2011 academic year, every degree will need to be adapted to the Bolonia system. The UCLM offers a learning framework with a special historical and architectural value, equipped with modern facilities, among them: air-conditioned lecture rooms, equipped with computers connected to the Internet; university library, study rooms, wireless Internet throughout the university campus, sports activities and a wide range of cultural activities for the the university communitiy. By means of the Español en Toledo Program, the UCLM aims at expanding, improving and strengthening its international relations with other foreign universities and institutions. We would like to create a spirit of culture and knowledge exchange, which allows students' integration in Spanish university life.
The campus of Toledo The campus of Toledo is made up of two different areas: the campus at the old part of the town, and the ancient Fábrica de Armas (sword factory). You can download here a map fo Toledo in pdf, where the campus facilities have been highlighted.
The old part of the town host those degrees related with social sciences and humanities: you can find here the degrees in Law, Business, Humanities and Public Administration. Buildings such as San Pedro Mártir el Real, Padilla Palace and Madre de Dios former convent host these teachings. In the same way, the Cardenal Lorenzana Palace is the headquarters of the academic director of the campus, and hosts the European Documentation Center and the Consumption Studies Center of the UCLM.
In addition, the UCLM has a research
center specializing in Hebrew and Arabic, it is the
School of Translators, which
takes its name from the famous homonymous institution of the Middle
Ages.
The campus at the old Fábrica de Armas
Another part of the Toledo campus is
located in a former swords and ammunition factory, a unique
architectural ensemble of the the 19th century. Degrees related to
science and health are taught here, such as sports, environmental
science, Industrial Engineering, Physical Therapy and Teachers'
