Summer Spanish course in Toledo. 24 June to 19 July 2013

"Español en Toledo" offers an intensive course in Spanish language during the summer of 2013, along with a wide range of cultural activities.

Spanish lessons

The course is offered in at least 4 levels (A2, B1, B2 and C1 according to the common European framework, adaptable depending on the groups), each of which consists of 80 contact hours distributed into the 4 weeks of the course. The following contents are included: Spanish grammar (6 hours per week), listening and speaking (6 hours per week), reading and written comprehension (6 hours per week) and phonology (2 hours per week). The highest level will offer lessons in literature and culture-civilization. There is a final grade for the course.

Extra support hours are offered so that the students can ask doubts out of the lessons schedule, as well as the help of Spanish students of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, one of the distinctive features of this course. Lessons take place at the Law/Business Faculty (C/ Cobertizo de San Pedro Mártir) or the Faculty of Humanities (Plaza de Padilla) of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, both historical locations.

Cultural activities

Cultural activities are optional for independent students. We offer the following:
>  Guided visits to the major monuments of Toledo (Cathedral, Synagogues and San Juan de los Reyes Monastery). Tickets are included.
>  Two one-day excursions to Candeleda (Ávila) and Segovia. Lunch included in both cities.
> Sessions of Spanish cinema.
> Lessons in Spanish dance.

Included services

> Medical insurance. Emergency telephone number 24 hours a day.
> Access to the Internet (at the university's computer room/library, and access to the wireless network at university facilities. Wireless Internet is also available at the dorm).
> Welcome and farewell parties.
> Certificate of attendance with grades.
> For groups of at least 10 students: free accommodation for accompanying professor, pick-up buses at Barajas airport and transfer to Barajas when the course ends, possibility of having credits transferred to your source university.

Accommodation

Two options of accommodation:
> With host families from Toledo (+ 3 daily meals from Monday to Friday).
> At university dorm (Santa María de la Cabeza or Gregorio Marañón depending on availability) (+ 3 daily meals Monday to Friday).
Accommodation is included from Sunday 23 June until the morning of Saturday 20 July.
