"Gregorio Marañón" University Residence

The 'Gregorio Marañón' University Residence is located at Padilla Square, inside the old quarter of Toledo, within a 2-minute walk to the university facilities.

It is a mixed residence, which has a total of 47 rooms of which 28 are single rooms, 14 are double rooms with two beds, 3 are double rooms with double beds, and there is one familiar room with space for 4 people (2 single beds + 1 double bed) (67 places altogether). Most of its rooms have a private bathroom, and all of them are equipped with heating and air conditioning.

All of its rooms have a desk for working or studying, desk lamp, armchair, wardrobe, bookcase, chest of drawers and one or two beds. Most of the rooms are equipped with Internet connection 24 hours a day, through the university network, either by cable or wireless. Most of the rooms have their own bathroom, or in some cases it is shared with another room. Room cleaning is carried out on a daily basis by the residence personnel (except for Sundays and public holidays). Bed linen and towels are provided by the Residence, and are changed every week.

The Residence has a living room on the first floor, equipped with armchairs and sofas, where guests can use a TV set, video, DVD player and satellite receiver programmed with more than 200 channels.

The first floor is equipped with two basic kitchens where residents can prepare and take breakfast and meals. They are equipped with microwave oven, coffee maker, fridge, kitchen items, etc. There is a space for laundry, equipped with washing machines (they work with 50-cent coins), clotheshorse, iron and ironing board.

Finally, the residence is equipped with a basic gymnasium that residents can use (with a previous reservation) for lifting weigh, or using the treadmill, exercise bycicle or the sit-up bench.

This residence is only used during the summer courses offered in July. It is located in the old quarter of Toledo, and offers excellent views over the River Tagus. It has a dining hall (full board Monday-Friday) and reception service 24 hours a day. Rooms are equipped with air conditioning. It also offers wireless Internet (its own network) and a little gymnasium.

Families from the city of Toledo (homestay)

ESTO gives you the chance to live with a family from Toledo, who will provide the student with a room, and will give him / her the chance to share conversations and activities, which will enhance his / her possibilites of integration, and will provide a larger exposition to Spanish.

Students need to take into account that, owing to the characteristics of the city of Toledo, most families live outside the old quarter, the reason why s/he is likely to have to take the bus to come to the lessons. In these cases, ESTO will provide a free bus pass.

Standard maintenance with the families includes three daily meals every day of the week. However, for special courses, other possibilities are contemplated: 1) only breakfast; 2) breakfast (M-S) + lunch (M-F) + dinner (Mon-Thu and Sun), this is especially designed for groups of students staying for longer periods who want to travel in the weekends.

Families are requested to offer the agreed meals to the student, keeping him / her company in most of them, as well as to wash the students' clothes at least once a week and to provide him / her with a copy of the house keys. Families are also required to pick up the student they day they arrive in Toledo.

Students are requested to be respectful toward other members of the family, not to disturb the studyint or resting times of the family with noises (especially at night), to be careful with the house items and furniture, and it is strongly recommended to make a rational use of water and electricity.

In our application form, students interested in living with a family can fill up a series of preferences, such as if they want a non-smoking family, with/without kids, with/without pets, and so on. ESTO will try to respect these preferences as much as possible.

Rented apartments

In long courses (6 months to 1 year), students usually prefer to look for a rented or shared apartment (even if they stay at the dorms during their first month in Toledo). In such case ESTO can help students look for a shared apartment, normally not included in the price of the course.
