Spanish in Toledo is a program of Spanish language courses for foreign students managed by the University of Castilla-La Mancha General Foundation. Our main goal is to give anyone interested (especially, university students) the chance to learn Spanish in an incomparable framework, such as the city of Toledo (a World Heritage Site since 1986, and 30 minutes away from Madrid), as well as to help building a more international university.
For this purpose, we use the facilities of the university campus of Toledo, with the advantages this represents: modern facilities, high-quality teaching, university professors, experts in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, Internet wireless network, and so on. In addition, students obtain a certificate issued by a public Spanish university, and there is as well the possibility of transferring credits to the source university.
Besides the courses, we offer a series of optional services, such as accommodation either at a university residence or with families from Toledo, medical insurance, guided tours around the city of Toledo, trips to nearby places of interest, sessions of Spanish cinema and dance, and organization of complementary trips. Furthermore, in the case of groups of students, free accommodation for an accompanying professor is offered, as well as pick-up service at the airport on their arrival in Madrid.
Since 2001, year in which the Foundation assumed the management of this program, the number of initiatives has significantly risen. At present, besides our general Spanish courses in the summer, we organize many other specific programs throughout the year, and we work with several institutions from different countries, such as the United States, Brazil, Russia, China or the Philippines.
