Intervention Areas

The psychology service provides their services in the following areas listed. The specific areas are only examples of the types of problems that can be observed most often and it doesn’t attempt to be an exclusive nor an excluding list of the possible requests.

It is a service of primary asístanse whose goal is to carry out, in a limited number of sessions, a primary evaluation of the client with the aim of orientating, pointing in the right direction, directing or arbitrating possible ways to solve them.

1. Individual psychological attention

The people who attend this serverice will be interviewed and evaluated in order to know the type of problem that they are suffering from, and to assess whether they can be seen by the psychological service or whether they should be referred to other professionals or other services of the university itself. Some of the matters which can be dealt with are listed subsequently:

1.1. Personal Problems

  • Adaption to a new environment (city, colleagues, university...)
  • Relationships in the environment (family, friends, partner)

2. Group Programmes

Intervention programmes and group workshops will also be carried out with people who have similar problems who can, therefore, benefit from the strategies discussed in an individual manner with each one of them. In these group workshops or intervention programmes additional problems can be dealt with which in the first phase exceeded the service’s possibilities , so that the group programmes of the service themselves would be the recipients of people referred from the private consultation service, who might be able to find their problem answered and solved with this type of intervention..
