What we do (link: click on this heading and get more info)

The main goal of this Service is to give support to registered disabled university students who require it and it also tries to guarantee equal conditions and opportunities and also their integration into the University of Castilla-La Mancha in every aspect regarding academic life. In order to achieve this, the following action is carried out:

  • Personalized information for students with special needs who attend the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
  • Informative, educative and awareness campaigns.
  • Promotion of relationships and agreements with the organizations and entities involved in the field of disability.
  • Detection of architectural barriers and proposals of alternative measures.
  • The provision of support of an Interpreter of Sign Language for deaf students.
  • The provision of Adapted Transport for students with mobility difficulties
  • The evaluation of the need of technical support and adaption to the position.
  • Coordination of voluntary action.

How to collaborate (link: click for more info)

We understand that the work of supporting disabled students shouldn’t be limited to welfare work of providing material, economic or personal help to these people. We have to generate social integration dynamics which would mean eliminating not only the physical barriers but also those of coexistence and learning. Dynamics, which have two aspects, that of the student body and also throughout the university community.

This is not a simple task and it shouldn’t only be up to some willing people. It is something which everybody should be involved in.

You can collaborate in many ways. Firstly and on the basis of the aforementioned agreement between the Regional Ministry of Education and Science, the Regional Ministry of Social Welfare and the University of Castilla-La Mancha, they yearly announce collaboration grants, destined to students of the Regional University, with regard to the compatibility of their studies, to collaborate on activities aimed at making access and integration of their disabled colleagues easier.

You can also contact us to make any suggestions or propose an activity. You are our main source of information and our wish is to find solutions to problems which we encounter regarding accessibility and integration.

Thank you very much for your collaboration. If you would like more information or would like to make an enquiry, you can refer to the section contact on this page.
