- 1985: Official opening of the academic year 1985-1986 at UCLM’s Ciudad Real Campus.
- 1986: The academic year begins at Cuenca’s School of Fine Arts.
- 1988: Election of Luis Arroyo Zapatero as Rector.
- 1988: The Publications Service is begun in Cuenca.
- 1988: The University Campus opens in Albacete.
- 1988: First Edition of the Summer Courses in Cuenca.
- 1991: UCLM names Juan de Borbón Doctor Honoris Causa.
- 1993: The San Pedro Mártir university building is inaugurated in Toledo.
- 1994-1995: Start of UCLM’s activities in Talavera de la Reina.
- 1997: Publishing begins of UCLM’s Official Gazette.
- 1999: UCLM takes over the former Weapons Factory (Technology Campus).
- 2000: The Job Placement Center (CIPE) is created.
- 2001: Classes begin at José Saramago University for Lifelong Learning in Talavera de la Reina.
- 2003: The first building is inaugurated at the Bio-Sanitary Campus in Albacete.
- 2003: UCLM has over 32,000 students, 1,800 professors and 900 administration and services staff.
- 2003: Ernesto Martínez Ataz takes over the post of Rector.
- 2005: The King and Queen of Spain officially open the Spanish university academic year 2005-2006 at the Ciudad Real campus.
- 2005: UCLM inaugurates the Open University Cultural Lecture Hall.
- 2006: UCLM exceeds 16 million euros in Research Projects and reaches nearly 400,000 square meters in total building area.
- 2007: Ernesto Martínez Ataz is reelected for a second period as UCLM Rector with 69% votes.
- 2008: UCLM approve 10 new degrees in the context of Plan of Bolonia.
- 2009: UCLM is 14 position ranked of over 74 Universities in Spain.
- 2010: Mario Vargas Llosa. UCLM Honorary Doctorate.
- 2011: Miguel Ángel Collado Yurrita takes over the post of Rector.
