Header of The Road to Research

The University of Castilla-La Mancha wishes to be a university committed to research, and wants this research to especially contribute to the region’s productive economy. Practically all areas of knowledge are represented at the University of Castilla-La Mancha’s educational and research centres.

As it is a recently created university, the University of Castilla-La Mancha has evolved significantly in the field of research, currently enjoying a situation of prestige and recognition within Spain for achievements attained in public R&D&I projects. We contribute daily to the region’s development by means of transferring technology to our companies, without neglecting the possibilities for our future graduates to enter the job market which our proximity to the production network may suppose. To that end, 2,700 students now carry out internships at over one thousand firms with which agreements have been signed.

Over the past few years, many European, national and regional projects have been dedicated to studies and techniques for their application to traditional economic sectors (agricultural production, the use of natural resources and the areas of chemistry, mainly related to waste treatment and the emission of pollutants), with great strategic significance due to their weight in generating gross added value as well as employment in the region.

But the University is not only interested in the traditional sectors. Nowadays, there are also teams of scholars who have plunged into leading projects and research in the fields of biomedicine, medical attention, humanities, educational techniques and procedures, computer science, application of new information and communications technology, and improvement in accessibility for people with special challenges, to provide a few examples.
