Cuenca Campus map

The Cuenca campus is situated in the outskirts of the city, near Virgen de la Luz Hospital. There, the “University Extension” activities are scheduled for all of UCLM, such as the summer courses and sports activities.

At the Cuenca campus, the key date of consolidation might be around 1995, with the construction of the General Lecture Hall and Faculty of Fine Arts buildings. They stand to the northwest of the city, near the old Madrid highway. Also situated in this area are the “Bartolomé de Cossío” University Residence, Colegio de la Sagrada Familia, the Legal-Social Sciences building and the University Library, located in the old chapel of the “Gil de Albornoz” building. To be exact, the Cuenca campus has unified the “Gil de Albornoz” buildings and the new edifices in a one-of-a-kind natural setting.

Also having moved here are the future graduates in Educational Sciences, who already enjoy a new building, the Faculty of Educational Sciences, and have left behind the traditional “Fray Luis de León”. The historical Teacher’s School now has a new building, more suitable to the new needs of these studies and better related to the ensemble of Humanities studies existing in the “Gil de Albornoz” building and to the general university services including the Library, General Services and Assembly Hall. The Cuenca campus had over 4,500 students in 2009.
