TRAVEL & LODGING

How to get here

The main international airport in Spain is Madrid-Barajas, which is the nearest international airport from Ciudad Real. Ciudad Real is very easy to reach from Madrid: 2 hours by car, 55 minutes by high speed train (AVE).

The best way to get to Ciudad Real from Madrid is by train. When you arrive to the Madrid-Barajas airport, take a taxi or the underground (www.metromadrid.es) to the Madrid Atocha train station. High speed trains leave intermittenly from Madrid-Atocha Train Station to Ciudad Real. Train tickets may be bought by Internet at the RENFE web page.

Lodging

A wide range of hotels in town offer a variety of services and prices. Special prices are offered for symposium participants. Hotels will block rooms for the symposium up to April 1st 2006. Please consider making your reservation before this date by directly contacting the hotels.

Visa Information

Visa applicants from many countries must now apply at least 3 months in advance of their travel date.

The III TWM staff advise anyone who may need a visa to attend the Symposium meeting to apply early. Visa applicants should apply at least 3 months in advance of the meeting. Security-related policies have greatly increased the processing time for visa applications.

If you need a letter of invitation, email your request to the Symposium Secretary (twm@uclm.es)

Depending on the country you come from, you need a simple letter or an official one in front of a notary. You are responsible for checking the status of your own visa application at your corresponding consulate.

General information about visas:
The spanish national ministry of interior maintains a website (www.mir.es) about visa related issues. For travel information check: www.mir.es/sites/mir/otros/guiatram/extranje.pdf.
