Centre for European StudiesThe Centre for European Studies is created in 1994, year when the European Commission authorized the University of Castille and La Mancha to be created. From that moment, the Centre has its headquarter in the Vice-Rectorate for Institutional Relations, in Toledo campus, in Cardenal Lorenzana building and it is managed by Luis Ortega, Professor of Administrative Law of this University.

From 1997, the Centre encourages and supports the teaching and research in the university world concerning the European Union, organizing the Master´s Degree in Community Law.

The Centre for European Studies has also organised, since its creation, every 9th of May, the Workshops concerning European Union, on the occasion of Europe Day.

In the year 2000, the Centre obtained the European Excellence Seal and it became Excellence Centre “Jean Monnet”.

The Treaty of LisbonEl Centre for European Studies (CEE), of the University of Castille and La Mancha belongs to the European Network of Documentation Centres; those centres existing in 27 community countries. This is the reason why one of its main objectives is to offer and give community information to the whole university community concerning all activities of the European Union and its activities, as well as to cover all community information and documentation needs of the members of the University of Castille and La Mancha, providing the access to its documentary and bibliographic contents.

Europe DirectFrom May 2005, the Centre belongs to the “EUROPE DIRECT Information Network”.

In the Castille and La Mancha environment, it belongs to the Information European Network of the Community Castille and La Mancha ( REICAM ).
