In the year 2000 the University of Castilla-La Mancha set up the Center for Consumer Studies (C.E.S.C.O.), which serves as a base for investigation and formation. The inspiring motive for the Center was to turn it into an outstanding point of reference in the field of Consumer Law. It is supposed to function as an expert and specialist partner for Community Institutions concerning regulatory issues.
The purpose of the Centre is manifold, such as to maintain a documentary on Consumer Law and to provide information on all aspects related to the subject, to organize training courses and courses on organisation, to offer informational and organisational services to public institutions as well as private entities that require it.
The Center for Consumer Studies of the UCLM has developed from a previous experience of six years of continuing organization of a Master in Law, Inspection and Consumer Arbitration and of various studies on regulatory proposals, in accordance with the National Consumer Institute and the Head Office for Consumer Affairs of the Autonomous Government of Castilla-La Mancha.
The Center for Consumer Studies counts on a distinguished group of researchers with recognized expertise. It has a valuable collection of documents which can be offered to both, individuals and entities interested in legislation and the application of Consumer Law.
Los tres investigadores del CESCO publican una nueva edición de su clásica obra, el más completo tratamiento del Derecho de Consumo en el ámbito inmobiliario.
Funded with the support of the project "Research Group and Research Center CESCO: maintenance of a research structure dedicated to consumer Law" issued by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (Resolution of December 23, 2011).
