During the first week of this coming October, the city of Toledo will become a centre of great interest regarding American and European Nursing Education, with the celebration of the 9th Biannual Iberoamerican Conference on Nursing Education and the 1st Latin American-European Meeting.
This event has been organized by ALADEFE (Latin American Association of Schools and Colleges of Nursing) and the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Toledo campus).
This will be the first time that an event of like calibre takes place outside the American Region and as such, establishes itself as a significant occasion for future European and American professionals in Nursing education and practice, permitting a shared analysis of various factors common to all. It will afford opportunities to discuss those education options better suited to contemporary world scenarios, and to stimulate ooperative networking between applicable persons and Institutions.
We sincerely wish to extend an invitation to all professionals of Nursing and to those in allied disciplines who are interested in this very important subject: the training and education of healthcare workers, especially nursing personnel.

TOLEDO
The city of Toledo, with more than two thousands years of history, was officially recognized as a World Heritage City by UNESCO in 1987. It has the particularity of being the melting pot of three distinct cultures: Muslim, Christian and Jewish, in which aspects of each period and culture still coexist and form a small but rich example of Spanish history.
From its origins as Celtiberian city, important Roman metropolis and capital of the Visigoth kingdom, it became a cultural centre in the XII and XIII centuries, wellspring of the Mudejar style, centre of the Spanish Empire under Charles I and place where El Greco found inspiration. Each and every one of these periods with its cultural influence and tolerant population has made the city of Toledo a monument in which Visigoth and Muslim ruins, palaces, monasteries and synagogues intermingle. For this reason, Toledo has achieved the epithet of Museum City.
Geographical and climatological information
Toledo is capital of the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha. It is situated 529 m above sea level, on the Castilian plateau, practically in the middle of the Iberian Peninsula, 70 km from Madrid, and can be reached by highway and high-speed train.
It currently has a population of 70,000 inhabitants. The climate is Mediterranean with continental tendencies, a mean temperature of 20ºC in October and infrequent precipitation.
